About Flag Maker

Flag Maker (flagmakeronline.com) is a free online flag maker that lets anyone design a custom flag in the browser and download it as PNG, JPG or SVG, with no account. It opens straight into the editor. Pick a layout, add shapes, symbols, text or your own image, recolor anything, and download the result. Most flags take a few minutes, and you can save a design in your browser to keep working on it later.

Who it is for

Anyone who needs a flag that does not exist yet. That includes students with a class assignment, writers and game designers building a fictional country, teams and clubs that want a banner, and people who simply like drawing flags. If you want to make your own flag, you do not need design software or any experience.

What is on the site

Besides the flag maker, there are guides on designing a good flag, flag proportions, what flag colors mean and getting a design printed. You will also find short answers to common questions (starting with whether Flag Maker is free and how to make your own flag) and a glossary of flag terms such as hoist, fly, canton and saltire. Facts about real flags link to the source they come from, such as official government pages or the published principles of flag scholars.

Your designs stay with you

The editor runs in your browser. Your designs and any images you upload are not sent to our servers, and saved flags live in your browser's storage on your device. The privacy policy has the details.

Independence

Flag Maker is not owned by a flag manufacturer, a print shop or a retailer, and it does not sell your designs or pass them to anyone. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page.
