Pennant

A pennant, also called a pennon, is a flag that is wider at the hoist than at the fly. Most pennants are triangular or tapered, and some end in a swallowtail. Ships, sports teams and yacht clubs use them.

A yacht club's small flag, called a burgee, is usually triangular or a tapered swallowtail. Navies use long, narrow pennants for signals and to mark a ship in commission. Sports pennants hung on walls are another common type.

Because a pennant tapers, the fly end has little room, so place any charge near the hoist. The flag maker exports rectangular flags, but you can draw a pennant design inside one with the triangle layout or a triangle from the Shapes tab. The custom flag printing guide covers what to send a printer, and the swallowtail entry covers forked ends.
