Can I put a picture on a flag?
Yes. In Flag Maker, open the Uploads tab and add an image such as a logo or a photo. You can then resize it, rotate it, change its opacity and move it above or below other elements. The image stays in your browser and is not uploaded to a server.
Pictures suit team, club or business flags, where the logo is the point. For a flag meant to represent a place or a group, a detailed photo is harder to read from a distance and harder to print cleanly. NAVA's design principles suggest one simple symbol instead.
If you want a symbol without drawing one, the Symbols tab has stars, suns, moons, crowns, shields, animals, plants and tools that you can recolor. One charge on a plain field often reads better than a photo. Use a PNG with a transparent background for logos. Try it in the flag maker.
